AcrySof IQ ReSTOR Lenses for Multifocal Correction

AcrySof IQ ReSTOR lenses

Bifocals and reading glasses are commonly worn by cataract patients, and they’re used by patients who have trouble seeing objects up close. Many patients have only dreamed of what life would be like without glasses. AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® lenses offer multifocal correction, and for many patients, they’ve turned the dream of not wearing glasses into a reality.

The greatest benefit of AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® lenses is that they give patients clear vision at all distances. These newer lenses eliminate the need for reading glasses, and they offer clearer vision during the day or night.

What are AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® Lenses?

Since they’re second generation multifocal lenses, they offer excellent near and distant vision, and they can significantly reduce a person’s dependence on bifocals. These artificial lenses are used during cataract surgery, and they’re just as useful for patients who don’t have presbyopia as patients who do.

The aspheric surface of the AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® lens gets rid of the night vision distortions that reduce the effectiveness of other types of lenses. Another advantage of these lenses is improved contrast, which is much better than alternative options.

Presbyopia is a condition that occurs inside of the eye, and it causes the natural lens within the eye to lose the ability to change its shape. Unfortunately, nobody is exempt from the effects of presbyopia, and it’s a common problem for patients who are farsighted or nearsighted.

In the past, a monofocal IOL was used to improve this vision problem. Although it worked well for enhancing a patient’s distant vision, it required the use of reading glasses to see objects up close.

The Benefits of AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® Lenses for Multifocal Correction

According to the latest clinical trials, about 95 percent of patients would agree to having AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® lenses implanted again. Since these lenses are unique IOLs, they deliver predictable results, and they make it possible for patients to read computer screens, newspapers, magazines and prescription bottles without reading glasses.

These lenses also give patients the ability to see items at a distance, and patients don’t need to use bifocals or reading glasses. Clinical trials show that about 75 percent of patients who’ve received AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® lenses have never used reading glasses since receiving the new lenses.

Are You a Candidate?

If you’re tired of having to wear reading glasses to see, then AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® lenses are worth considering. These multifocal lenses can greatly expand your range of vision and improve the quality of your life.

You can see if you are a candidate for these lenses during a consultation with Dr. Patel at Wichita Vision Institute in Wichita. Contact us today to schedule an appointment to learn more.
